چکیده

We investigate the violation factor of the original Bell-Mermin inequality. Until now, we have used an assumption that the results of measurement are ±1. In this case, the maximum violation factor is as follows: ( ) ( ) −2 2 2 = even n n and ( ) ( ) −1 2 2 = odd n n . The quantum predictions by n-partite Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state violate the Bell-Mermin inequality by an amount that grows exponentially with n. Recently, a new measurement theory is proposed [K. Nagata and T. Nakamura, International Journal of Theoretical Physics, 49, 162 (2010)]. The values of measurement outcome are ±1 2 . Here we use the new measurement theory. We consider a multipartite GHZ state. We use the original Bell-Mermin inequality. It turns out that the original Bell-Mermin inequality is satisfied irrespective of the number of particles. In this case, the maximum violation factor is as follows: ( ) 1 2 = even n and ( ) 1 2 = odd n . Thus the original Bell-Mermin inequality is satisfied by the new measurement theory. We propose the following conjecture: All the twoorthogonal-settings experimental correlation functions admit local realistic theories irrespective of a state if we use the new measurement theory.

Macroscopic Local Realism: How Do We Define It and Is It Compatible with Quantum Mechanics?

We introduce the concept of different orders (microthrough to macro-) of local realism. ``Macroscopic local realism'' states that events occurring at a location B cannot induce (immediate) macroscopic changes to a system at a location A spatially separated from B. ``Local realism'' in its entirety excludes all sizes of change. ``Local realism'' in its entirety is used by Einstein, Podolsky, and...

2 Realistic models violating Bell ’ s inequality

We present a detailed analysis of assumptions that J. Bell used to show that local realism contradicts QM. We find that Bell’s viewpoint on realism is nonphysical, because it implicitly assume that observed physical variables coincides with ontic variables (i.e., these variables before measurement). The real physical process of measurement is a process of dynamical interaction between a system ...

Violations of Bell Inequalities for Measurements with Macroscopic Uncertainties: What does it Mean to Violate Macroscopic Local Realism?

We suggest to test the premise of “macroscopic local realism” which is sufficient to derive Bell inequalities when measurements of photon number are only accurate to an uncertainty of order n photons, where n is macroscopic. Macroscopic local realism is only sufficient to imply, in the context of the original Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen argument, fuzzy “elements of reality” which have a macroscopic...

Quantum Measurement, Detection and Locality 6

According to Bell’s theorem, local realism is incompatible with quantum theory. However, it depends on an implied assumption about quantum measurement. We suggest that the assumption might be removed by a complete quantum analysis of the interaction between the measured system and measuring apparatus of a Bell experiment using Born’s statistical interpretation. But it is conceivable that analys...

A certain class of parametric down-conversion Bell type experiments has the following features. In the idealized perfect situation it is in only 50% of cases that each observer receives a photon; in the other 50% of cases one observer receives both photons of a pair while the other observer receives none. The standard approach is to discard the events of the second type. Only the remaining ones...
